PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This was my second attempt at creating a forcefield effect based on the tutorial above. My first was I'll Be Back. In this one, I tried to make the outside of the bubble more refined and the inside more cloudy. I also removed the outer glow for this design because it didn't look as good.
This type of design (of course it's a sphere again) basically involves rendering clouds on multiple layers within a round shape. I don't remember the exact steps that arrived to this point, but I applied different distortion effects to each layer, (ie: swirl, liquify, spherize, etc), different filters (ie: color dodge, multiply, screen, etc), and masked certain areas until I arrived at the desired appearance. It was much more trial and error than a science. I added some purple color to one layer and a radial light in the center.
I then blurred the background photo within the energy field and made myself less visible. I added the shockwaves in the ground and the shadows, because I added myself into a photo I had taken years ago in Maine or Vermont. I'm not sure if I like this one or the previous design better. They are both quite different and overall I am happy with how they turned out.
