The official site of Barry Colonna

Welcome to the official site of Barry Colonna, the author of The Eye of Trileon, an epic fantasy adventure set in Atlantis and bronze-age Greece. Please follow the links for more information about the novel. You will find the synopsis, character descriptions, the first chapter of the novel, and much more book and historical information. In this section, you can delve deeper into the history of 1,500 BCE and Plato's Critias, where comparisons are drawn about how The Eye of Trileon differs between the two. The author also explains his vision of Atlantis and reasons for the similarities and changes. The material provided on this site goes beyond the story to provide a larger picture of the world he created. The e-book is available for purchase at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.

The Portfolio section was created to display the digital art created by Barry. He first began using Photoshop at the end of 2014 and instantly fell in love with creating images. Barry never thought of himself as an artistically creative person until he began creating photo manipulations. He still sees himself as very much a beginner, but thoroughly enjoys creating digital art as a hobby. Most of his works are exhibited on DeviantArt, although there are several which are exclusively found here. If you are interested, please browse through the section, where you can comment or ask questions about each manipulation.

Axioms is one of the blog sections dedicated to useless trivia and fun facts. Barry researches each topic and attempts to explain it in a fun and interesting manner. Previews of the three most recent Axioms are presented below, or you may follow the links to read and comment on any of the topics. Sometimes he focuses on strange and unusual things most people may never think to ask, but he hopes you find it entertaining and informative. You may comment on any of the Axioms posts if there is a specific topic you are interested in learning.

Barry is using the Journal as a means of documenting his journey of betterment through education and fitness. He aspires to become a Data Scientist, and you can follow him here as he updates you every Wednesday with his educational progress through online math and programming courses. He also has a health blog every other Sunday about his fitness and weight loss goals, along with his progress. He hopes that his journal will inspire others to achieve their dreams and goals, no matter their age or current abilities.

You can learn more about Barry or contact him at the links in the main menu.

BARRY COLONNA
I'm rethinking this section and whether I want to keep it, so currently it isn't active. There were some good recipes I shared, but it was random and weird and not funny like Axioms, so I may or may not bring it back. We'll see . . .

STORY IDEAS

You must write every single day of your life... You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads... may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.

Ray Bradbury

You know, it's hard work to write a book. I can't tell you how many times I really get going on an idea, then my quill breaks. Or I spill ink all over my writing tunic.

Ellen DeGeneres
The Funny Thing Is...

Being a writer is a very peculiar sort of a job: it's always you versus a blank sheet of paper (or a blank screen) and quite often the blank piece of paper wins.

Neil Gaiman

Lock up your libraries if you like; but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind.

Virginia Woolf
A Room of One's Own

An author is a fool who, not content with boring those he lives with, insists on boring future generations.

Charles de Montesquieu

A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.

Maya Angelou

I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.

Douglas Adams
The Salmon of Doubt

I like pie.
