PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Once again, I used a tutorial to create this design because I thought it was really neat. For some reason I decided to use myself again for the design, instead of the pretty girl who was used in the tutorial. I'm crazy.
This took well over a week to create and perfect. I almost quit several times, but I'm glad I didn't. I turned a photo of myself into a molten, cracked and crumbling statue. Who wouldn't want their likeness turned into that? Am I right?
Put simply, I created this image by placing 1400 layers on top of each other. Not quite, but there are a lot. Many texture layers, then creating cracks, adding color, hot liquid MAGMA, etc. This is the end result. I apologize for rarely going into detail about the exact process, but I'm no where near being skilled enough to provide a tutorial, and I usually can't recall every step I make. More often than not, I end up going back and tweaking different layers until I get the effect I want. And then I do it again for good measure.
