PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This was my first matte painting. I guess. Maybe? I've researched it but I'm still not entirely clear on the difference between a matte painting and a photo manipulation. The tutorial I used said it's a matte painting, and it sounds much more dignified than photo manipulation, so we're going with that for this design.

Check out the behind the scenes images below to see a small part of how this was created. This was probably one of the more complex designs I've done and I'm extremely proud of it, even though I did use a tutorial to create it. It involved taking images of buildings and monuments and placing parts of them together to create one large, unique city. I also removed all elements of a modern city, such as cars, construction, scaffolding, etc. It's a pretty cool idea and one I like very much.

As usual, I have included credits for the wonderful stock photos and tutorial above. Enjoy!
